Grover "Buddy" Johnson

Grover “Buddy” Johnson, age 79, of Sebring, Florida passed away Monday, June 8, 2026. He was born July 24, 1946 in Sebring, Florida to Groover Johnson and Flossie Deese. Buddy worked for Florida Power and Progress Energy, served in the U.S. Army, member of New Life Holiness Church in Lake Placid, and has been a lifelong resident of Sebring, Florida. He was a Highlands County Sheriff’s Auxiliary member of the Florida Cracker Trail Association, Sebring Utilities Commission, EHV Contracting, and was also a South Florida State College electrical instructor. He is survived by his Daughter – Tonya Johnson Colquitt (Clay) of Sebring, FL; Sons – David Johnson of Sebring, FL; James Johnson (Kaycee) of Myakka City, FL; Step-Daughters – Jennifer Sharrett (Scott) of Ohio; Rochelle Gentry (Steve) Georgia; 13 Grandchildren; and 9 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife – Joy Johnson; Son – Russell Johnson; Sister – Gladys Knight. Memorial services will be held Friday, June 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM with family receiving friends beginning at 10:00 AM at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home.
