Gregory James Freeman

December 2, 1963 - January 23, 2024

Greg, born in Quincy, MA Dec. 2, 1964 and passed away in Celebration, FL Jan 23, 2024. He was surrounded by family and friends, immersed in love and support when he departed this world.

Greg is survived by his loving family: Wife - Suzanne, Sons- Kyle, Tyler, RJ and Ryan.  Granddaughter Michaela. His parents, Mother- Barbara Slack, Father and Step-mother, Ralph and Terry Freeman. His Brothers- Scott, Keith, Jeff and Ryan. His extended family of Aunt, Uncle, Niece and Nephews. He rests in eternity with his daughter Amber Nichole.

Greg entered this world with a spring in his heels, a focused determination, and an indomitable spirit. His character was molded during a vibrant childhood filled with opportunities, in a family where, despite its challenges, love knew no bounds. The tales of Greg's early years, though they might sound harrowing to some, were recounted by Greg himself and those close to him not with sorrow but with laughter. Indeed, to Greg and those closest to him, his life story was a source of endless side-splitting comedy. For Greg, the proverbial glass was not just half full; it overflowed. Greg's courage and vibrant spirit provided a sense of comfort and security to his younger brothers, making him a figure of bravery, kindness, tenacity, generosity, and love throughout his life.

A lifelong enthusiast of sports including high-school basketball, ice hockey with his brothers, sailing and flying. He was particularly fond of sharing a love of hockey with his son. Greg's passion knew no limits. His early career in commercial aviation was as adventurous as his childhood. To accumulate the necessary flight hours for advancement, he began flying for a modest company in Puerto Rico, known more for its adventure than its maintenance record. Starting a story with "You're not going to believe this…" was Greg's trademark, drawing listeners into tales that were as unbelievable as they were true.

Achieving the pinnacle of success in aviation, Greg earned the esteemed title of Line-Check Airman, a role in which he was entrusted by the Federal Aviation Administration to evaluate and mentor airline pilots. Those who were fortunate to be mentored by Greg often spoke of the profound impact he had on their careers.

When faced with a cancer diagnosis, Greg did not falter. Instead, he confronted it with the same tenacity he applied to every aspect of his life. He dedicated himself to learning everything about the disease and became a beacon of hope and encouragement for others, showing an unparalleled depth of generosity.

Greg's immense passion for flying and his insatiable appetite for life were only surpassed by his love and dedication to his family. Uncle Greg's visits were filled with activities, making every moment count and ensuring everyone felt like the center of his world. His unique sense of humor, often accompanied by a mischievous grin, brought light and laughter even in the toughest times.

Greg's influence on his beloved wife and children is undeniable. His colorful sense of humor was a constant presence in the Freeman household, clearly shaping the vibrant and spirited character of his family.

Greg's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unyielding zest for life, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain a source of inspiration and joy in the hearts of his family and friends.
