Grace Elizabeth Johnson, age 72, of Sebring, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2013. She was born March 16, 1941, to Frank and Velvorie "Velma" (Lane) Green, in Hawkinsville, Georgia and came to Sebring with her grandmother, Betty Mae Lane and Aunt Ruby and Cal Jerelds. Grace attended school at E.O. Douglas and after graduation she became a cook at the Kat House Restaurant, where she worked until its closure. Grace met and married the late Robert Johnson on March 7, 1967. She later went to school to become a CNA and worked at a variety of nursing homes and private duty until retirement. She was a member of Action Revival Worship Center under the direction of Bishop Major Callahan until her passing. Grace is survived by her daughters, Velvorie Walker and Raimunda (Norris) Johnson, both of Sebring and Elaine Walker of Avon Park, FL. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalyn Cole. Also survived by her sons, Sammie Scriven of Avon Park and Robert (Vanessa) Johnson of Ft. Lauderdale; a special daughter and son, Verna Dunbar and Leo Cox; brothers, Donald Green and Frank (Fannie) Green; sisters, Catherine Jackson; Mary R. Engram; Carolyn White; Emmalene (Jordan) Canion; Susie (Earl) Heath, all in Delray, FL; sisters-in-law, Daisy (Earnest) Nicholson; Jeraldyne (John) Smith and Bessie Johnson, all from North Carolina; brother-in-law, Roy Johnson of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her sister Jessie Owens. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; two godsons, Rawn Johnson and William (Poky) Brown; devoted friend, Samuel Hedgeman and special friends of the family, Greg and Sydney Wiley and Lucy Cannon. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Bountiful Blessings Church of God, Sebring, with Bishop Major Callahan officiating, followed by interment at Pinecrest Cemetery.
