Gordon Smith

Gordon Smith, age 80 passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 in Sebring, Florida. Mr. Smith was born in Center Hill, Florida to Clinton F. and Mary E. (Gamble) Smith. Mr. Smith worked for Sprint for 28 years, he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Avon Park, member of the Masonic Lodge in Ft. Myers, life member of the VFW in Avon Park, and he was a member of the Rotary in Avon Park and Okeechobee and a member of the Kiwanis in Wauchula. Mr. Smith served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1951 and had been a resident of Avon Park since 1965 coming from Wauchula, Florida. He is survived by his wife-Mercedes D. Smith-Johnson of Avon Park, Florida; son-Robbin Smith of Avon Park, Florida and daughter-Valerie Lee (Lloyd) of Avon Park, Florida; brother-Clinton F. Smith, Jr. of Sanford, Florida; sister-Betsy Berry of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandson-Cory Smith. Arrangements were entrusted to the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Avon Park, Florida.
