Gordon Barclay Cooke, age 84, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on April 3, 2025. Born on November 29, 1940, in Jamaica, Gordon lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and unwavering faith. He became a resident of Sebring in 1988, having moved from the Cayman Islands, and quickly became a cherished member of the community.
Gordon worked for many years as a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) repairman. He was known for his dedication to his craft and his steadfast work ethic. Outside of his profession, he found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially spending time with his beloved family and caring for his cats.
A devoted member of Living Waters Church of God in Sebring, Gordon’s faith guided his life. He gave generously of his time, particularly through his involvement in prison ministry, where he served faithfully for ten years, offering encouragement, hope, and spiritual guidance to others.
He will be remembered as a strong and encouraging father and grandfather, whose love for his family was evident in all he did. Gordon is survived by his loving children: John Cooke (Bonnie), Mathew Cooke (Sara), and Kathryn Cooke, all of Sebring, FL; six grandchildren: Trevor, Denis, Jonathan, Benjamin, Catalina, and Gordon; and one great-grandchild, Emily. He is preceded by his parents, Denis and Margaret Cooke.
Gordon's legacy of faith, perseverance, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
