Goldie Marie Zobrist, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, in Sebring, Florida, at the age of 90. She was born on February 21, 1934, in Jordan, Montana, to the late Ernest and Opal Carney.

Goldie lived a life dedicated to helping others, marked by faith, service, and kindness. A longtime member of Sparta Road Baptist Church, she found purpose in both her local community and through her work with SIM USA, participating in cross-country mission work. She spent seven years as a nurse at a hospital in Africa, where her nurturing spirit touched countless lives.

In 2006, Goldie moved to Florida from Fort Mill, South Carolina with her late husband, Oswald Zobrist. She is survived by her step-children, Fred Zobrist (Cora) of Georgia, Cora Klay (Ken) of Florida, and Bill Zobrist (Jill) of California; her siblings, Leon Carney of Montana and Mary L. Sage of Florida; her thirteen grandchildren; and her twenty-seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter, Heidi Guzman of South Carolina.

Goldie’s talents and passions were many. She was a gifted seamstress, known for the beautiful dresses and clothes she lovingly crafted. She enjoyed cooking and baking, with her lemon meringue pie becoming a family favorite. Music was another joy in her life—she sang, played the piano, and even mastered the accordion.

Above all, Goldie will be remembered for her dedication, generosity, and kindness. Her nurturing presence touched the hearts of all who knew her. As a child, she often shared the story of how she rode a horse to school—a testament to her adventurous spirit, which stayed with her throughout her life.

Goldie’s legacy of love and service will live on through her family and all those she helped and inspired. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
