Goldie Jane Stoll was born to Gerald and Vina Hewitt in Glens Falls, NY on January 6, 1935 and was born again by the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ at age five. While she was working as a dental hygienist in Jacksonville, FL by her mid-20s, Goldie began to grow in her faith. A recruiter for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) looking for people with dentistry skills sparked Goldie's interest in mission work and led to her career with SIM. In 1967, Goldie began working at the Miango missionary R&R center in Nigeria as a dental hygienist and transferred when it closed, one year later, to Evangel Hospital in Jos. At this time, a single SIM missionary named Fred Stoll came from Liberia to Nigeria for his mandatory R&R, all the while praying that he might meet the one who would become his wife. They met, and after Fred returned to Eternal Love Winning Africa (ELWA) in Liberia, they grew their relationship over correspondence. Although Nigeria was at war at this time, not one of their numbered letters to one another went missing! Goldie arrived by freighter from Nigeria to Liberia in February, and they were married in Monrovia, Liberia on April 11, 1969. Goldie served in the ELWA Hospital pharmacy and later in the dental clinic. Her children, Esther and Jonathan, were both born at ELWA Hospital. Goldie and her family returned to the U.S. for permanent assignment at the SIM USA office in 1985. She retired in 2000 and moved to the SIM Retirement Village with Fred in 2010. Goldie Stoll went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in Sebring, Florida. She leaves behind a legacy of service, thoughtfulness towards others, and faithfulness to her family and Lord. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Siegfried "Fred" Stoll of Sebring, Florida, her sister Geraldine Snow (Gerald, deceased), of Hilton, New York, her brother Reginald "Bud" Hewitt (Faith), of Hilton, New York, her daughter, Esther Berry (James), of Florence, South Carolina, her son, Jonathan Stoll (Jenny), serving with SIM in Ethiopia, and her grandchildren, Moriah, Andrew "Drew", Janalyn and Jameson Berry, of Florence, South Carolina, and Johanna Stoll of Ethiopia. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11:00am at the SIM Retirement Village Chapel in Sebring, Florida and will be preceded by visitation in the Fellowship Hall. The family-only graveside service will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Member Care Department of SIM USA or to the SIM Liberia Dental Clinic (#
