Glen Allen Kegler, age 86 passed peacefully in his home on Friday, March 6 surrounded by family members Kathy, Glen, Joe and Ron after a brave, brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Glen the eldest of six siblings proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years before beginning a long career with the Erie County Buildings and Grounds department. It is after serving the Navy that he met and married the love of his life, Mary Ann Franjoine October 6, 1962. The two shared a wonderful country life together for fourteen years raising their three children to love and respect all living creatures.
Pa had passion for simple things that brought people together such as a good round of golf at River Greens, baking homemade cookies, breads and jam or spending time with friends and family at concerts - reunions. He will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence and his deep love for family and friends. Pa's legacy lives on in the laughter of his beloved grandchildren and stories, traditions, memories will be shared with his two great grands and others yet to come.
Glen is survived by his daughter Kathy (Bill) Schumacher, sons Glen and Joe, his brothers Gary (Marcia), Dick (Betty), Bill (Pauline), Ron, sister Donna (Bill) Kubik, grandchildren Marianne (Jon) Hurley, Nick (Malinda) Schumacher, Bradley Schumacher, Athen Kegler, Amberlynn (Clark) Eason, Matt (Audrey) Kegler, Sierra (Mihai) Kegler, Joey Kegler and two wonderful great grands he loved to flash photos of. He was preceded by his parents, Glen and Florence Kegler, his wife Mary Ann (Franjoine), sister in laws Marcia and Pauline Kegler.
