Gladys` Dorine Souers

G. DORINE SOUERS On June 29, 2011, Dorine Souers slipped peacefully from this life while in the caring hands of the Staff of Good Shepherd Somers Hospice House. She was comforted by the presence of her two sons, Steven and Scott, and the love and caring of dear neighbors. Born June 8, 1915 in Fayette County, Illinois, Dorine operated several beauty shops after moving to Indiana and married Freddie Souers in 1945. While living in Muncie, Indiana, their two sons, Steven and Scott, were born. The family moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1957, where Dorine was active in the P.T.A. She served as local and state president and was recognized for establishing the Volunteers in Court program. In 1972 Dorine and Freddie retired and moved to Sebring, Florida, where they met people who would be their dear friends and neighbors for over 35 years. Her husband, Freddie, passed away in March of 2008. Dorine continued to live independently at home with the love and support of neighbors and family until falling ill just ten days before passing away. Dorine is survived by her sons, Steven and Scott and grandson, Jason, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana and one brother, Charles, of Alabama.
