Gerald Raymond Porter, 77, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, in Sebring. He was born June 30, 1934, to Harold B. and Helen M. (Stevenson) Porter in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was an engineer for Chrysler Motor Company for 25 years until his retirement in 1989, when he moved to Daytona Beach, Florida from Sterling Heights, MI. He had been a resident of Sebring since 2003, coming from Daytona Beach, where he was a member of the Daytona Elks. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Adele S. Porter of Sebring; son, Jeff (Jennifer) Porter, Manassas, VA; daughters, Lorri (John) Curtis, East China, MI and Errin (James) McAndrew, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; grandchildren, Melissa, Jason, Dylan and Finn and one great-grandchild on the way. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Sebring, with W. Mike Adams officiating. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Disabled Veterans of the American Diabetes Association.
