Gerald Edward Martis

Gerald Edward Martis passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 in Sebring, Florida at the age of 81. The son of Joseph and Ella Mae (Wagner) Martis. He was born on March 15, 1942 in  Peoria, Illinois. Gerald worked as a truck driver in the construction industry, attended Tanglewood Community Church, and has been a resident of Sebring since 2017. Gerald was a man of amazing faith. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Club. He loved motorcycles, sports, traveling, golfing in his later years, painting and loved to draw. He is survived by his loving wife – Verline of Sebring, FL; son – Paul A. Martis (Jackie) of Holly Springs, NC; Gerald Vern Martis (Shelley) of Pekin, IL; daughter – Laura Noren (Michael) of Metamora, IL; brother – Christopher Martis (Christie) of Pekin, IL; sister – Peggy Carter of Michigan. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Shawn Patrick Martis.
