Gerald Clester Martin, Sr., age 74, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on July 10, 1942 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Charles C. and Mary R. (Poling) Martin. Gerald moved to Sebring in 1980 from Lancaster and was a Machinist at GenPac for 35 years. He enjoyed photography and was a devoted member of the Sebring Airport Authority Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief and later became Chief at the Lorida Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife: JoAnn Martin, children: Mary Ballinger and fiancé Mike Merluzzi; Nancy Partin and her husband Dave, Gerald C. Martin, Jr. and his wife Adina; step-children: Melodi Powell and her husband William, Timothy Johnson and his wife Barb; sisters: Ann Hoffman and her husband Bob and Rita Reedy, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Martin. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, March 11, 2017, 11:00 AM, at Spring Lake Methodist Church with Pastor Clyde Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM.
