GERALD WAYNE FESSENDEN Gerald Wayne Fessenden, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in Sebring, FL. He was born in Jackson, Michigan on March 23, 1928 to Ernest and Cora Marie (Flenar) Fessenden. He was a Data Processing Manager in city government; served in the U.S. Navy during WW II, 1946-1948 on the USS Hugh Purvis. When he was in the Navy he tried out for the US Olympic Swim Team in 1948; proud of being a blood donor, was a 5 Gallon Honor donor with the Palm Beach blood Bank; He was a resident of Lake Placid since 2005 coming from Boynton Beach, FL. He survived by his wife, Clare Fessenden, Lake Placid; Daughter Cheryl McBride, Littleton, CO; sons, Craig E. Fessenden, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Neal B. Fessenden, (Deanna), Royal Palm Beach, FL, Matthew W. Fessenden, Lake Placid, FL; sister Carol Gaudreault, Vero Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel with W. Mike Adams officiating.
