George William Lazzell

George William Lazzell, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on April 26, 1937 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Clarence W. and Margaret (McDonough) Lazzell. George was a veteran serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. He spent his career in the Trucking industry as a truck driver. He moved to Sebring in 1995 from Columbus, Ohio and was a member of Sebring Parkway Church of Christ. Some of his favorite past-times were target shooting, hunting, fishing and watching football. George adored his family and loved spending time with them.  He was active in the trucking union and was a Teamster Stewart in the Local 413. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Delores “Wanda” Lazzell, children, Tedrick S. Lazzell (Elaine); Gale L. McMahon (Thomas); Rhononda Vickie Lazzell and Rhett Lazzell, daughter-in-law, Debra Lazzell, sister, Emmilina Hester, eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  George was preceded in death by his son, Steven “Harry” Lazzell.  Memorial contributions may be made in George’s memory to: Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 (www.uso.org/donate)
