George Ann Davis Kessler
Born November 7, 1947 - Died December 1, 2020
George Ann Kessler was born at a time when women were not allowed bank accounts, car loans, or home loans, without a husband. She raised her kids the best she could on a variety of cash-only jobs from waitressing to construction. She would feed any animal her last bite of food, including a squirrel who tried to bite her thumb off once, several poodles, Chihuahuas, and dozens of cats. Once raised $15,000 through can & bottle recycling drive for the children of war-torn Kosovo (Cans for Kosovo), traveled the world from her tiny birthplace in Olive Hill, Kentucky, home of, & relative to, country/folk singer, Tom T Hall. She dreamed big, loved to sing in honky tonks when she was younger, but “Sneaky Snake” to her children, as she tickled them. She was convinced her family farm had trees from Johnny Appleseed and her best friends in the world were a British couple John & Teresa Caley & their sons Michael & Nickie who brought magic to her life. She passed in the care of doctors at a hospital in Sebring, Florida after a year’s long battle with early stage dementia, and recent health problems. She is survived by sister Pat Belcher and David Davis & their families, her eldest daughter Terrie A. Griggs & husband Peter, granddaughter Amber Griggs & grandson Alex Griggs. Youngest daughter Kathy Marshall & son -in-law Scott Marshall, Kathy’s two boys James & Jarrett Larrimore, her eldest son Steve Fetz & daughter-in-law, Kathy Fetz, their children Steve, Stephen, Terrence, James, Courtney, Abbi and many grandchildren. Her youngest son Jack Forst and daughter-in-law, Leah Forst and their son Collin Forst. As well as her son-in-love, Sammy Larrimore, former stepchildren Jeff Alford & Sammy Alford Jr & her beloved Sophie the Chihuahua.
