George Eugene Devore

George Eugene Devore, 90, passed away Saturday
October 14, 2017. He was born to the late Clarence
(Buzz) and Florence (Burtscher) Devore in Canton, OH.
George graduated from St. John High School before he
proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII.
George was founder and owner of Devore Engraving in
1955 and the company is still operating in Canton, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife, Josette (Moots) Devore and
children; Mark (Patricia), Houston, TX, Danielle Devore,
Canton, OH, Charles, Canton, OH, Alan (Diane), Sebring,
FL, Christopher (Lee Ann), Canton, OH, Philip, Massillon,
OH. Brother; David (Gail) Devore, Pinehurst, NC, and
sister-in-law: Sue Devore, Columbus, OH. George is also
survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren,
and numerous nieces nephews and friends.
Having been a resident of Highlands County since 1993,
he was a former member of the Sun N Lake Country
Club, loved sports and playing golf and loved his family.
He was a member of Our Lady of Grace in Avon Park.
George faithfully participated in the FISH Ecumenical
Service in Canton and assisted in organizing the MRDD
in Stark County.
He was preceded in death by a daughter; Jill Ann
Devore, Daughter-in-Law Christine Ellen Devore, and
brother; Thomas Devore. Memorial contributions may

Mass will take place, Friday, October 20th 2017 at Our Lady of Grace
in Avon Park at 10:30 am.
Father Nick McLoughlin to officiate.
