G. Lane Bradford, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his home in Sebring, Florida. He was born on May 20, 1945, to the late Lyman and Margaret (Bowers) Bradford in Miami, Florida. Lane moved to Sebring in 1993 from Miami, Florida where he was a retired Police Captain for the City of Miami Police Department. Lane proudly served in the United States Army as a military police officer during the Viet Nam War era. He and his wife Gwen attended the St. John United Methodist Church in Sebring. Lane was active in forming the Heartland Riders Association and organized the “Run to the Heartland” event from 2004 until 2013. He enjoyed camping and traveling especially to the Tennessee and Georgia mountains, he also enjoyed working in his yard; however his greatest love was his family. He is survived by his wife, Gwen Bradford of Sebring; his son, Todd Bradford and daughter, Tara Jones, both of Davie, Florida, his grandchildren, Xan and Caden Bradford and James Jones, Jr.; He is also survived by his brother, Gary Bradford of Sebring. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John United Methodist Church, 33631 Grand Prix Drive, Sebring, Florida with the Reverend Ronald DeGenaro Jr. officiating. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Park North Cemetery in Miami prior to the service.
