George Edward Barnard, Jr.

George Edward Barnard, Jr, age 75, of Avon Park, Florida went to be with his Lord on December 17, 2024, in Sebring Florida. George was born on September 5, 1949, in Norfolk, Virginia to his loving parents George E. and Alda E. Barnard (Woodard). George made a career out of serving his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1970 to 1994 as an aircraft mechanic/Chief Aviation Officer. He moved from Miami, Florida to Avon Park in 1986. He was an active member of the American Legion and VFW.

George is preceded in passing by his beloved wife Cameron Barnard, and his parents.

He is survived by his daughter; Heather Hodge (Richard Bloom) of Avon Park, son-in-law; Joseph Shawn Hodge of Avon Park, and his two grandchildren Luke Edward Barnard and Brooke Bloom.

George touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.

A celebration of George’s life will be announced at a later date.
