Gail Payne Williams Beavers, age 88, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was born February 6, 1937, in Sebring, Florida to Carroll Morey and Mary Evelyn (Kelsey) Payne. Gail was preceded in death by her siblings, Morey Payne, Jimmy Payne, Kelsey Payne, and Judy Payne and her first husband, James M. Williams.
Gail was a secretary for the Highlands County School Board from 1985-1999, a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Sebring, and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lake Placid, Florida. Her second husband, Rev. Jim Beavers (deceased) was a Pastor at Faith Baptist Church.
Gail was born and raised in Sebring, Florida and resided there most of her life until moving to live with her daughter, Rosemary, in 2018 up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Gail loved having ice cream from Dairy Queen, working puzzles, and studying her Bible. She is survived by her Children – Stephen K. Williams; Douglas Beavers (Patricia); Rosemary Barker (Patrick); Daniel Williams (Lisa); Gwendolyn Connor; Bonnie Beavers; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Sebring. She will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.
