Fred Eugene Thomas, age 69 passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in Sebring, Florida. He was born in Bartow, Florida to W. Clifford and Vera Alvena (Drawdy) Thomas. He was a Teacher for the Department of Corrections, member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed drawing and designing automobiles, drag racing, building race engines, he was an accomplished pianist; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and had been a lifelong resident of Avon Park, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 45 years-Nancy L. Thomas of Avon Park, Florida; daughters-Marcy Lynn Neff (David) of Valrico, Florida and Amanda Jane Maghan (Jason) of Sebring, Florida; brothers-Tommy Thomas (Joanie) of Florida, Bill Thomas (Brenda) of Lake City, Florida and Jerry Casey (Patty) of Tallahassee, Florida; sister-in-law-Thetis Casey of Avon Park, Florida; 3 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with Dr. Howard Leman officiating.
