Fred Mixon Morris, Sr.

FRED MIXON MORRIS, SR. Fred Mixon Morris, Sr., 88, of Sebring, FL, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010. He was born January 1, 1922 to Archie and Nellie (Smith) Morris in Valdosta, GA, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1996, coming from Naples, FL. He worked as a mechanic; was a member of Sparta Road Baptist Church in Sebring and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving during WWII. He was inducted into The Order of the Iron Arrow at the University of Miami, was an honorary member of Lambda Chi Fraternity and received the Order of Omega Award from Lambda Chi. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Evelyn Morris Sebring; Daughters, Mary Laughlin (Jack) Plant City, FL and Scheri Morris Riverview, FL; Son, Fred Morris, Jr. (Theresa) Weston, FL; Grandchildren, Jack Jr., Fred III, Melissa, Loren and Elizabeth; and Great- Grandchild, Ally Marie. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2010 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Rev. W.
