Franklin Robert Smith Sr.

Franklin Robert Smith Sr passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 in Sebring, Florida at the age of 83. The son of Franklin G. Smith and Aleata (Dutter) Smith. He was born on September 18, 1940, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Franklin was a long-time resident of both Binghamton, NY and later Naples, FL, where he was a business owner, and more recently, a resident of Lake Placid since 2015. His hobbies included watching NASCAR and playing the trumpet. He played in the Naples Concert Band and had a beautiful voice. He enjoyed listening to the big bands, especially Glenn Miller. In his early years he was an avid golfer and bowler. He is survived by his son – Franklin Robert Smith Jr. (Susana) of Naples, Florida; daughter – Cynthia M. Crytzer (Scott) of Pennsylvania. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren - Aleata Banks, Jessica Smith and Sean Smith and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Gerald W. Smith, his loving wife Patricia Snitchler Smith, and his grandson, Christopher J. Sizemore.
