Franklin Delano Perry

January 21, 1936 — December 6, 2022

Avon Park

Jesus called FP with a tee time. FP said “Great I’ve been waiting for you to call, when is it?" Jesus replied “Now. December 6, 2022.”

Franklin "Frank" Delano Perry was born on January 21, 1938 in Van Lear, Kentucky to William and Martha (Porter) Perry. He leaves his Wife – Kathryn; Children – Martha Barnett (Dale), Tim Perry (Jennifer), and Greg Perry (Susan); 8 grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; Stepchildren – Julie Higgins (Dick), and Jason Rogers (Myung); and granddaughters – Leah and Jenna Rogers. Frank also leaves his Sisters – Bonnie Jurich and Dimple Watkins; and Brother – R. Doug Perry to mourn his loss. He was preceded in death by his Brother – Bill Perry; Sisters – Loraine Connley, Darlene McKinzie, and Jesse Park.

Frank was a member of the American Legion and Avon Park Nazarene Church. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from July 1954 to July 1958. He holds a BA from Georgetown College, an MA from Xavier University in Political Science, and an MA from Xavier University in Education.

Frank was a retired Superintendent of the Cardington School System. During his career he was a coach, teacher, and later (after retirement) a golf coach at Galion Country Club. Frank’s love of golf is what persuaded him to move to Florida 13 years ago. He was the past president of the Pinecrest Golf Course.

Frank’s request was that there be no service held after his passing. He said, “instead of coming to my funeral, call someone or visit someone you love! Tell them you love them while you still can. You aren’t saying good-bye to me because I will see you in Heaven!”
