Frank Dalto, Sr.

Frank Dalto, Sr., 88 of Lake Placid, FL passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Sebring, FL.  He was born on August 24, 1930 in Long Beach, New York to Pasquale Dalto and Philomena (Spotavechia) Dalto.

He initially owned a landscaping business in Long Beach.  He and his family moved from NY to Clearwater, FL in 1964.  There, he began working in the flooring business and eventually ran his own store in Largo, FL.

In 2001 he and his wife Joan moved to Lake Placid, and he began working with the Griffin family at Griffin’s Carpet Mart in Sebring.  After his wife passed in 2004, the Griffins unofficially “adopted” him as part of their own family.  He worked with them until his retirement in 2017 at the age of 87.

He is survived by two sons; Frank Dalto Jr. of Lake Placid and John Dalto (Linda) of Cary, NC, and one grandson, Steven, of Aurora, CO.  He also leaves behind two sisters; Rose Carley of Stuart, FL and Alba King of Long Beach, NY.

Frank was of the Catholic Faith and was a past Grand Knight of the Largo Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed his work, watching auto racing, and gambling at the Brighton Seminole casino.
