Francisco Fernandez

Francisco Fernandez-Molina, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on December 3, 1928 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of Clemente Fernandez and Demetria Molina-Santiago. Francisco worked as a college professor at the University of Puerto Rico (PR). He coached the track and field team and retired as the Director of the Physical Education Department, Humacao, PR. He has been a resident of Sebring since 2006, coming from Springfield, MA. Francisco enjoyed reading, dancing, gardening and travelling. He loved all sports, especially baseball. His favorite team was the Red Sox. He attended St Catherine Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Luz; daughter, Aida Fernandez Ramos and son-in-law Hector Ramos of Florida; siblings; Milagros Fernandez; Elena Fernandez and Rafael Fernandez. Surviving are also two grandchildren, Shakira and Yamil; one great-grandchild, Yamilet; stepchildren Mitzy, Milton, Marvin (deceased); step-grandchildren, Marvin, Yomari, Gaby, Alex, Milton, and Joshua; great-grandchildren; Elias, Elia, Lucas, Connor, Zoe, Marvin II, Howard, and Evangeline. He was preceded in death by his parents, and five sisters (Sulin, Paula, Pilar, Sara, Julie). Viewing will take place Monday, July 18, 2022 at 10:00 am followed by a mass and celebration of life at 11:00am at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home.
