Francesco "Frank" Leone, 84, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, in Sebring. He was born June 12, 1928, in Bronx, New York, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1988, coming from Neptune, New Jersey. His father, Samuele Leone, from Putignano, Italy, was an Italian immigrant and was naturalized in the U.S. Court of New Jersey while serving as a soldier at Camp Dix, New Jersey on May 31, 1918. His mother, Rosa Lo Perfido became a U.S. citizen by marriage on November 27, 1921. Frank was a truck driver for a dairy and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Helen, his loving companion of 27 years, who he married October 4, 1986. Also surviving are his five children, Roseann Ghanbary; Alexander Leone; Margaret Ann Ruault; Frank Leone, Jr. and Mariane Leone; five grandchildren, Joey Leone; Denise Leone; Nicholas Ghanbary; Vincent Ghanbary and Denise Gongora. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Campagna, who died on May 25, 2004 and his brother, Jiuseppi Leone, who died on September 14, 1990. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, with Steve Blazing officiating. The family will receive friends preceding the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL, will be immediately following the service.
