Forest Ray Byrd, age 91, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on September 29, 1923 in Clay County, Kentucky to the late Reuben and Maggie (Fields) Byrd. Ray served as a Radioman in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He moved to Sebring in 1996 from Milton, IN. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp, Gideons International and the First Assembly of God in Sebring. He loved the Lord, his family & friends and his church. Survivors include his wife, Judith E. Byrd-Sebring, FL; daughter, Joyce Ann Moriarity-Holland, MI; step-son, Charles E. Sullivan II-Connersville, IN; step-daughter, Lola Raby-Minooka, IL; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. There will be a funeral service on Thursday, August 6, 2015, 2:00pm, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with Reverend Wilmont McCrary officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm. Interment will take place at Grant Memorial Park in Marion, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made in Ray's memory to: The Gideons International, 307 S.
