Floyd Jesse “Peck” Williamson, 90, of Avon Park, passed away on Thursday, August 23rd, 2018, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 7th, 1928, in Jersey, Ohio, to the late Floyd and Till Williamson, and on August 25th, 1945, he was united in marriage for 62 years to Gloria D Gearry. Gloria preceded Floyd in death in 2009. Floyd remarried in 2017 to Debra Wynkoop. A resident of Ohio, he moved his family to Florida in 1980 where he worked for Ward’s Citrus Nursery before going on to V&W Farms for many years before retiring. After retirement, he stayed busy by mowing lawns and being a handyman. Floyd was a life-long farmer/gardener, enjoyed fishing and helping anyone in need. He will be lovingly remembered by two children, Larry (Rose) Williamson and Lela Fawcett both in Ohio; six grandchildren, Missie (Erich) Roeseler, Beth (Billy) Meade, Kim (JR) Wood, Rebecca (Jimbo) Fawcett, Rosanna (Roger) Gearheart, Angel (Tony) Bennett; thirteen great-grandchildren, Nikki, Jarod, Mary, Nathaniel, Devon, Mason, Derek, Chancellor, Hunter, Carson, Cheyenne, Jesse and Zoey; nine great-great grandchildren, Daegon, Freya, Finnegan, Declan, Kelly, Kylie, Cameron, Nicholas and Sunny; siblings, Carol Benton, Melvin Williamson, Wallace Williamson, Frances Whitten and Nellie Sutherland; many nieces and nephews; and wife Debra Wynkoop, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Floyd was preceded in death by Brothers Jimmy and Leslie “Butch”, and Sisters Mary, Ruth, Geneva, Beverly and Annie. Floyd’s family expresses their sincere gratitude to Terry Hunt and fishing buddy Paul “old goat” Angstadt, Jeanette Holbrook and Mike Gearry. The family has requested memorials to the American Cancer Society and the Humane Society.
