Florence Ruth Tuthill

October 3, 1928 — March 11, 2017

Florence Ruth Tuthill, 88, born in Keasbey New Jersey died Saturday March 11th 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband John, son Barry, and grandson Robert. She is survived by her sons Mark and John W., (wife Vivian Tuthill), grandson Matthew Tuthill (wife Danielle) great granddaughters Shelby and Emory, grandson Derek Tuthill (wife Elly) great granddaughter Ava Grace, granddaughter Melissa and great granddaughter Annaliese. Florence Ruth Tuthill, known more affectionately to everyone as “grandma”, was called home by the Lord on Saturday March 11 2017, she was comfortable and transitioned in peace. All who knew her would tell you that grandma was a saint who walked among us (this would be further evidenced if you knew grandpa and the rest of the Tuthill boys that she could always make walk the line). She was a true matriarch and family stone. In the toughest of times she knew just what to say and how to nurture and comfort anyone regardless of the scenario. She was a talented artist and story teller. She always paid attention to detail. Whether it were thoughtful gifts, greeting cards for every occasion…even the stickers she put in the cards were intentional and matched the personality of the receiving individual (and you were never too old for her to give as if you were just a kid). Grandma was the quintessential homemaker, wife, mother, and grandparent. Every time you visited with grandma you felt like you were in Mayberry. She set the bar high for all of the women in the Tuthill family and we are all blessed to have seen such a great example. She and grandpa were married for 67 years and provided a love story that we all strive for. It was a true storybook love and three months apart proved to be too much. The lessons we’ve learned about love for family can only be trumped by the lessons she taught about having strong faith and always demonstrating a love for the Lord. Her daily devotional and rosary was always close by and she was devout in her routine to pray and thank the Lord for all things. Although those left behind mourn our loss, we know to find peace in knowing she is Home and rejoicing with grandpa and those who left before her. Thank you for the continued prayer for our family. God Bless!

Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
