Fay Burkhart

Fay Burkhart, 101, of Sebring, FL, formerly of Dayton and Vandalia, OH died November 13, 2013 at the Palms of Sebring. She was born June 29, 1912 in Darke County, OH. Twin daughter of the late Herbert and Vida Throp, she graduated from Palestine, Ohio High School and Miami Jacobs Business College in Dayton, OH. She worked several years as an administrative secretary and was a Wave in the Navy in Communications during the war. Fay was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers and two nephews. She married the late Walter Teboe and they were married twenty-three years. In her later years she married the late Vernon Burkhart and they had elven happy years. Fay is survived by two step-sons; Rev. John Burkhart, of Corbin, KY; and Gene Burkhart, of Barnesville, OH; sixteen step-grandchildren and sixteen step-great-grandchildren; six nieces Mary Lewis of Hastings, NE; Barbara Grice of Miamisburg,OH; Nancy Grice of Dayton, OH; Judith Throp of Middletown, OH; Cheryl Myers of New Carlisle, OH; Vicki Brannen of Jacksonville, NC; and two nephews, Gary Throp of Ashville, OH; and Randy Lewis of Jacksonville, NC. Fay was a member of The First Presbyterian ARP Church in Sebring and a member of the Ruth Circle. Memorial Services will be held Monday, November 18, 2013, at 9:30am at The Palms of Sebring with the Rev. Darrel Peer presiding. Following cremation burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lake Placid, FL at a later date.
