Evie Lenore Sands, born on November 19, 1942, in Palm Beach, Florida, peacefully passed away on August 24, 2024, in Sebring, Florida, at the age of 81. She was the cherished daughter of the late Rufus and Mary Nell Stevens.
Lenore moved to Sebring in 2017 from Lake Worth, Florida, where she continued to build a life surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted husband, Yancy L. Sands, with whom she shared 33 beautiful years of marriage. Her children, Tracey Prew (Chris) of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Jason Spurlin of Boston, Massachusetts, will forever hold her close in their hearts. She is also survived by her brothers, Gary Stevens (Judy) and Russell Stevens (Joanne), and her three treasured grandchildren.
Lenore was known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who found immense joy in nurturing her loved ones. A skilled cook, her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals, She also had a quiet passion for playing solitaire, a pastime that brought her moments of peace and reflection.
The beach was one of Lenore’s great loves, where she found serenity and joy. Her devotion to her family was paralleled only by her faith, as she was a committed member of her church communities both in West Palm Beach and Sebring. Her life was a testament to her loving, kind, dedicated, and fun spirit.
Lenore Sands will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
