Evelyn Mary Prescott Gabrielsen

Evelyn Mary Prescott Gabrielsen, age 86, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Okeechobee, FL. She was born on January 15, 1929 in Lake, LA to the late Stanford and Julia (Villar) Dragg. Evelyn had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1997 having come from Zolfo Springs, FL. She was a member of the Community Church of Basinger. Evelyn loved working in her yard and cooking for her family whom she dearly loved. She is survived by her children: LeVada Talley of Lake Placid, FL, Roy H. Prescott of Okeechobee, FL, Perry L. (Lucy) Prescott, Sr. of Alva, FL; siblings: Alvin Dragg of Gonzales, LA, Rowena (Peachie) Gautreaux of Gonzales, LA, Polly (Terry) Gautreaux of Gonzales, LA, 16 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands: Joe Prescott, Jr., and Jerry Gabrielsen, son: Gary Prescott, daughter: Jeannie Murray, brother: Alex Dragg, and grandson: William Altman. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, FL. A funeral service, officiated by: Reverend Michael W. Peppers, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park with burial at the Basinger Cemetery to follow.
