Evelyn "Evie" Mc Lean

Evelyn Mc Lean, born Evelina LoCastro in New York, New York on July 21, 1924 passed away October 8, 2015. We rejoice that she is delivered into the arms of our Lord. Evelyn ("Evie") was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Mc Lean, her parents, Giovanni and Nina LoCastro and her sister, Margaret Core and brother-in-law, Robert Core and brother-in-law, Sebastiano Mineo. Surviving Evie are her sister, Rose Mineo; nieces Carole Mineo, Deborah Brennan (Tom) and their children, CJ and Kait Gattuso and Elena and Walter Carabajo, Barbara Mineo and her children, Teddy and Jinji Drelles, Jessica Mineo, and nephew Ronald Mineo. Evie moved to Crystal Lake Club in Avon Park, FL in 1988 and enjoyed many years of activities with her husband and the friends they made while living there. Evie always helped the community with Memorial Day and Veterans Day celebrations. She also spent many years assisting the school system as a para-pro, she especially enjoyed teaching children to draw and sketch which was her special pleasure. Evie will be remembered by many special friends at Crystal Lake and at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where she was a faithful member. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring and include visitation on October 12, 2015 between 10am - 11am at the funeral home; funeral Mass at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Avon Park at 11:30am; and interment following the Mass at Lakeview Memorial Gardens on Memorial Drive.
