Eva Dolly Marie Ross

Eva Marie Godin Ross, her family and friends all called her “Dolly”, passed away at the age of 97 peacefully at home in Sebring, Florida.  A native of Pascoag, Rhode Island.  She was the daughter of the late Omer and Eva Marie Godin and the sister of her late brothers, Eddie, Roland, Jack, Omer, Normand, Gene, and Robert.  Dolly was the beloved wife of the late Les Ross.  She is survived by her nieces and nephews Robert Godin of Florida, Francine Godin Sours of Texas, Christine Godin Slick of Rhode Island, Michele Godin Archer of Florida, Cheryl Godin Durand of South Carolina, Lisa Godin Rogers of Kentucky, Joseph Godin of Rhode Island and fourteen great-nieces and nephews.  Dolly treasured all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.  We will miss her as our family historian.  She shared her love of life and laughter with everyone she met.  She will be loved and remembered as an incredible woman.  Dolly was an avid golfer all her life and enjoyed watching football and golf with her family and friends.  She was quite a comedian and when asked, she contributes her long life to a Martini and being a lifelong Democrat.  Before moving to Florida, Dolly resided in Richmond, Virginia.  She worked for John Hancock Life Insurance Company for several years.  She was an active and dedicated member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richmond.  Dolly will be taken back home to RI for burial at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Harrisville, RI.  The family would like to thank Compassionate Care for the wonderful care given during Dolly’s illness.
