Ethel Mae Hackett, age 86, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 in Sebring, Florida. She was born in Westport, Massachusetts on September 28, 1933 to the late Herman and Althea (Kirby) Hart. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband –Granderson Cornell Hackett. Ethel retired as a Librarian for the Department of Agriculture, Beltsville, MD and then moved to Sebring, FL. She previously worked for the Government Printing Office, Washington, D.C., and also became Office Manager for a daycare center, Mary Moppets, in Laurel, Maryland. Ethel Mae was of the Baptist faith. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Ethel Mae left a treasure in everyone’s heart with her “Hart” radiant smile, her joyous spirit, and her generous and loving heart.  It brought her incredible joy to give to others.  We will miss her stories, countless jokes, sayings, and her sweet singing voice that would brighten your day. Ethel Mae is now with our Heavenly Father, singing praises for eternity. She loved and cherished her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Ethel Mae is survived by her Daughter – Joyce Holley (David) of Miramar, FL; Sons – Dennis Hackett (Vicky) of Sebring, FL; Steve Hackett (Cathy) of Oregon City, OR; six Grandchildren; Bruce Martin; Joshua Hackett (Amy); Matthew Hackett (Rene); Zachary Hackett (Jessica); Justin Holley; and Delaney Mae Holley. Six Great-Grandchildren- Faith Cederberg Hackett; Basil Mae Hackett; Keith Hackett (Deceased); Reagan Hackett; Lillian Hackett and Jacob Hackett. Ethel Mae will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL
