He is preceded in death by his father, Lester Young, his mother, Cynthia Thomas, and his older brother, Kenny Young His beloved wife, Carolyn Young. He is survived by His Sisters, Mary Nealy, and Amanda Thomas (Matthew) His little brother Richard Thomas (Renee), his nephews and nieces, whom he loved very much As we celebrate his life, I hope you take the time to stop and look at nature the way he did, For hunting and fishing was the way of life; it was a great way to be close to god in nature to see the beauty that Ernie saw every time he went out. I hope that you take the time to do the same in his memory.

Also, don't forget the love for Jesus he had as well.

The morning mist on lstapoga's shore, The tournament is won, the engine stilled; He walks the quiet forest trails no more, Where autumn woods and waiting stands were filled . He knew the language of the rising sun, The thrill of casting where the shadows lie, The patience of the deer stand, one by one, The golden hours drifting softly by. Big bass are running in the deeper grass, A heavy buck is moving through the trees, We'll watch the changing of the seasons pass, And hear his memory whisper in the breeze. The weigh-in's over, and the day is done, The waters calm beneath the fading light; Rest easy, Ernie, where the rivers run, Across the peaceful, starry skies tonight.
