Elsie Maud Wakelin

Elsie Maud Wakelin, age 92, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Vero Beach, Florida. She was born on August 24, 1924 in Camrose, Alberta, Canada to the late Thomas Matthew and Maud (Cooper) Tate. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Evangelical Alliance Mission serving as a missionary with her husband in Venezuela. She had been a resident of Sebring since 1992 coming from Miami, FL. survivors include her children: Douglas Arthur Wakelin, Sebring, FL; and Charlene (Niles) Carmichael, Vero Beach, FL; two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Arthur Wakelin; son, Halsey Matthew Wakelin and brother, George Tate. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor David Altman officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 PM until time of service. Burial will follow in Bougainvillea Cemetery in Avon Park, FL.
