ELSIE MARIE KASTNER Elsie Marie Kastner, age 87, of Sebring, Florida was called home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 29, 2012. She was born in Solway, MN on January 6, 1925 to John and Betsy (Fredrickson) Gustafsson. She and her husband Ken joined Sudan Interior Mission (SIM) in 1948 and sailed for Nigeria, West Africa as missionaries in April of 1949. They spent 36 years there involved in teaching Bible classes, administration work, rural development, language teaching, and guest house management. She is survived by a sister, Celia Larson, of Solway, MN; daughters Kay Breid, Sebring, FL, and Naomi Sherf, Amherst, WI; a son James Kastner, Grosse Pointe Park, MI; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 2004; a brother, Charles Gustafsson of Buckeye, AZ and a sister, Mildred Oslund of Waseck, MN. Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10 AM at the SIM chapel in Sebring with Steve Hagen from the Alliance Church of Sebring officiating.
