Elmo Collins

Elmo Collins, age 83 passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 in Sebring, Florida. He was born in Walker, Louisiana to Mike and Clara (Dunn) Collins. He was a custodian in the Healthcare Industry and also worked at Avon Park High School, member and oldest deacon at Antioch Church of God in Christ, Sunday school superintendent, former choir member and bass drummer, past president of the choir. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his family. He is survived by is devoted wife of 52 years-Naomi Collins of Avon Park, Florida; daughters-Elmira Glaspie of Bronx, New York, Armenia Smith (Johnny) of Avon Park, Florida and Regena Jones (Timothy) of Orlando, Florida; sons-Tony Collins of Atlanta, Georgia and Elmo DeCarlo Collins (Darlene) of Orlando, Florida; sisters-Martha Rae Nickolson of Ben Harbor, Michigan and Octava Collins of Walker, Louisiana; 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 4 god children. Visitation will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Antioch Church of God in Christ, 1320 Carolina Avenue, Avon Park, Florida 33825. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Faith Pentecostal House of God, 956 West Hal McRae Blvd., Avon Park, Florida 33825.
