Ellen Upton

Ellen B. Upton, 82 of Sebring, FL passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in Sebring, FL.  She was born in Dover, New Hampshire on January 13, 1936, the daughter of Stanley and Irene (Hughes) Burns.  She was the widow of Robert J. Upton who passed away on February 20, 2004.  She attended schools in Dover and Nashua, New Hampshire.  She also graduated from nursing school in Boston, Massachusetts.  She has worked in hospitals and also nursing homes.  Ellen and her husband moved to Cape Cod where they owned and operated a needlework shop, which was a hobby of Ellen’s.  On retirement they moved to a warmer climate in Florida.  Ellen was very active in Highlands County Quilt Guild.  She is survived by a son, Robert J. Upton Jr.  Preceded by a sister, Sally H. Heffernan of Sun City Center, Florida and a brother Dennis M. Burns of Dover, New Hampshire.  She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
