Elizabeth “Betsy” F. Hulsebosch, 80, passed away on September 2, 2016, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, Florida after an 18 month battle with cancer. She was born in Buffalo, New York to James S. and Elizabeth (Aitken) Ferguson on October 29, 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, James A. Ferguson. She was a resident of Avon Park since 2003, prior to that she lived in Oshkosh, WI for 25 years. She moved from Buffalo as a child to Bethlehem, PA where she graduated from Liberty High School in 1953 and Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA, in 1957, with a BS degree in Elementary Education. Betsy married Charles Hulsebosch in 1957 and taught 2nd grade in the Garden City, Michigan school system before becoming a homemaker and raising a family. She loved to quilt and do ceramics, basket weaving, and all kinds of needle work; gardening; traveling; and volunteer work. She was always there for anyone who needed a caring person to lean on. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Charles and her children: Albert (Sally) Ferguson, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Daniel (Satsuki) Hulsebosch, M.Sgt. (Ret.) Joseph Hulsebosch, Kristine (David) Haag, Thomas (Nancy) Hulsebosch, Howard (Rachel) Hulsebosch, John Patrick (Tamara) Hulsebosch, and their “adopted” son Siamak Mahallati.
