Elizabeth "Betty" Anne Schwalenberg

Elizabeth “Betty” Anne Robinson Grimaldi Schwalenberg, 68, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 in Sebring. She was born on Sept. 6, 1956 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Ruth and Robert Robinson.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Schwalenberg. She was also survived by and a proud mother of four children, Vito P. Grimaldi, Jr. (Jennifer) of Tampa, Florida; Robert J. Grimaldi (Luis) of Denver, Colorado; Ruth Anne Lawson (John) of Sebring, Florida; and Daniel B. Grimaldi (Eudimar) of Orlando, Florida. She had a step-son, Joseph P. Schwalenberg of Gualaceo, Ecuador. She had four grandchildren, Vito P. Grimaldi III, Michael Grimaldi, Giulia Grimaldi and Leia Grimaldi. She leaves behind her beloved dogs, Bella and Buddy. She was preceded in death by former husband, Vito P. Grimaldi, Sr. and her beloved parents, Ruth and Robert Robinson.

Surviving also are two siblings: Larry Robinson of Tampa, Florida and Mimi Biddle (John) of Chesapeake, Virginia.

She moved to Florida in 1992 from Virginia. While in Virginia she obtained a masters degree in Criminal Justice from Radford University. Once in Sebring she worked for the Department of Corrections - Probation and Parole and many security jobs before retiring. She retired once she met her husband, Joe Schwalenberg. The pair met online and fell in love. They were married 23 years.

She enjoyed traveling with family,  going to theme parks, taking care of her dogs and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 3235 Grand Prix Dr in Sebring, FL. She will be laid to rest on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery located in Bushnell, Florida.
