Edward L. Woodson, Sr., age 90, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on January 29, 1926 in Morgantown, West Virginia to the late Edward and Georgia (Murphy) Woodson. Edward was a veteran with the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He moved to Sebring in 1994 from Ohio and was a member of Parkway Free Will Baptist Church. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans Association of Sebring, Avon Park VFW Post 9853, Airborne Reunion Group 502 and 101st Airborne Division. Survivors include his wife, Wilma M. Woodson-Sebring, FL; daughter, Sharon Wert (David)-Sebring, FL; step-daughter, Karen Zeitz-Sebring, FL; sons, Robert Woodson (Denise)-OH and Edward Woodson, Jr. (Charlotte)-OH, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, 11:30 a.m., at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Sebring. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place at Florida National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Cornerstone Hospice, 209 N.
