Edward Dee Vickers Jr.

Edward “Ed” Dee Vickers Jr., aged 60, returned to his heavenly home on January 7, 2022, after a valiant battle with ALS. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Ed was born to Edward Vickers Sr. and the late Mary Allan Vickers in Morgantown, West Virginia, on April 10, 1961. He graduated from Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia in 1986, and practiced as a chiropractor from 1991 to 2012 in Clewiston, Pahokee, and Avon Park, Florida.

Ed was a loving father and husband. He enjoyed taking his family on road trips across the country, and camping in the state parks around Florida. He was always thinking of fun, new places to show his family so that they could enjoy the natural beauty that the world has to offer. Ed always had his hands in a project, hoping to further beautify the world around him. He loved learning new things and enjoyed sharing what he learned with others. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace and fully healed with his Creator.

Ed is survived by his wife, Pamela Vickers of Sebring, FL; his son, Matthew (Paige) Vickers of Yulee, FL; his daughter, Katie Vickers of Yulee, FL; special friends Jamie Parker and Jessie (Raisa) Snavely of Lehigh Acres, FL; his father, Edward Vickers Sr. of Sebring, FL; his sister, Debbie (Dennis) Ostrowski of Sebring, FL; his brother, Robert (Jessica) Vickers of Sebring, FL; and of course, his two rescue cats, Zippy and Pip. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Vickers.

There will be a graveside ceremony at Lakeview Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m. on January 14 for family and close friends. Pastor Andy McQuaid will officiate the service.
