Edward James O'Berry, Sr.

Edward James O'Berry, Sr. passed away on April 24, 2013. Ed was born in Sebring, Florida on July 10, 1931 to parents Arthur O'Berry and Serena Albritton (nee Rigdon). Ed was a lifelong resident of Sebring. Ed served his county in the U.S. Air Force as a Bomb Disposal Specialist during the Korean War. Ed was an honest man who raised a family with great integrity and hard work. Ed treasured his family above all else, especially his wife, children and grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ed retired from the construction and trucking industries in 2005. Ed is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn; daughters, Debbie, Cindy, April and Jodi; sons, Jimmy and Edward Jr.; grandchildren, Billie Craver, Serena Rushlo, Jackson Rushlo, Shaylan Beatty, Cody Beatty, Sean O'Berry, Kayla O'Berry, Kacey O'Berry, Katie Story, Austin Story and Grace O'Berry; and brother Arthur "Binky" O'Berry. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, April 26, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33870.
