Edward Earl Danielson passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2023 in Sebring, Florida at the age of 91. He was born on September 19, 1931 in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Irvin Leroy Danielson and Inez Madeline (Horton) Danielson, his wife of 56 years Frances ‘Louise’ (Engles) Danielson, his sisters Lois Zemcik and Betty May Hardin as well as his infant granddaughter Sara Elizabeth Nimigan. Edward (aka Uncle Dan, Mr. Ed, Dr. Ed, Dr. D) and Louise served as missionaries in Central America and the Philippines where they worked primarily with MKs (missionary kids) for whom they had a deep affection. That affection was returned to Ed in many ways, and it was particularly meaningful to him when a group of MKs ‘adopted’ him as a missionary kid. Following Louise’s passing in 2009, Edward moved to the SIM Retirement Village in Sebring where he became a good friend to many in his last ten years. He bestowed the title of ‘adopted’ child/grandchild on many people whom he loved. Ed had a big heart and made everyone feel special, often gifting them with his woodworking projects. He supported numerous missionaries financially and in prayer. It was his desire that everyone he knew would someday be in heaven because they had accepted God’s gift of forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Ed will be deeply missed by son John Danielson (Susie) of San Diego, California, and daughter Debbie Nimigan (Tim) of Napanee, Ontario. Also missing him are his grandchildren, Andy Danielson, Jennifer Danielson, Laura Smith (Andrew), and Kayla Spand (Tim). A service of remembrance will be held on May 24 at 10 am in the chapel of the SIM Retirement Village in Sebring.
