Edna Yvonne Robfogel

Edna Yvonne Robfogel, age 71, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 5, 2016, in Sebring, Florida. She was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada to Henry and Sarah Wiebe, the youngest of five children. She grew up in a Christian home where her dad was a teacher and farmer and her mother was a homemaker. She was saved at an early age and later became interested in mission work, probably as a result of her parents often inviting missionaries to stay in their home. Edna graduated from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, and after teaching in public school for a few years, she joined SIM in 1966 and went to Nigeria, West Africa to teach missionary children at Kent Academy. She served in Nigeria for a total of twenty-eight years and along the way, married Bill, who had gone to Nigeria to teach also. Edna and Bill retired in 2010 and moved to the SIM Retirement Village in Sebring, Florida, where they continued serving the Lord. Edna is described by all as being a very positive, caring and giving person. She is survived by her husband Bill, two brothers Dan (Doris) Wiebe and Robert (Beryl) Wiebe, along with a sister-in-law, Dianne Wiebe. She is preceded in death by her sister Helen (Art) Chamberlain, and a brother, Harold Wiebe. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the SIM Chapel, 900 Andes Dr. in Sebring, Florida.
