Edna Elizabeth Hargrove

Edna Elizabeth Hargrove passed away on November 10, 2024, in Sebring, Florida. She was born on August 23, 1940, in Alva, Florida, to the late Levy and Leila Syfrett. Edna’s life was marked by a deep commitment to her family, her faith, and her community. She moved to Lake Placid, Florida, in 1958 from Fort Myers, and this warm, close-knit community became her cherished home for many decades.

Edna’s life was centered around her devotion to her family and her faith. A dedicated member of Placid Lakes Baptist Church, she found joy and strength in her church family, treasuring the time spent worshipping and socializing with those she held dear. Her family remembers her as a devoted mother and grandmother who always made time for those she loved, and as someone who delighted in the company of her pets, who brought her great comfort and joy.

She is survived by her children, Terry Jackson (Thomas) and Rick Hargrove, both of Lake Placid; her sister, Evelyn McDaniel of Fort Myers; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sisters, Nell Sumoski and Nadine Peavy.
Edna will be dearly missed, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in peace.
