Dorothy L. Zimmerman Harrison

Dorothy L. Zimmerman - Harrison, age 93, of Fairway Pines, Sebring, Florida, formerly a long-time resident of Sandusky, Ohio, died on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at her home. A 1939 graduate of Sandusky High School and a graduate of Bowling Green State University, Mrs. Harrison was a valued teacher in the Sandusky Public Schools for almost 20 years. She was a lifetime member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Sandusky, and an active participant in Union Congregational Church of Avon Park. She was also a life member of the Ohio Education Association, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Society International, and a member and past president of the Sandusky College Woman's Club. In her retirement years in Sebring, Florida, she was a singer in the Highlands Delta Chorale and traveled extensively throughout the world. She was preceded in death in 1974, by her first husband, Alton W. Zimmerman and in 1991 by her second husband, John L. Harrison. She is survived by her sons, Reverend Carl (Judy) and Kenneth (Sue) Zimmerman of Elmhurst, IL, and Erie, CO, and her daughter Martha L. Radtke, Milwaukee, WI, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Union Congregational Church, 106 N.
