Dorothy Ella Martin

Dorothy Ella Martin, age 98 passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 in Avon Park, Florida. She was born in Hartford, Wisconsin to Charles and Louisa (Endres) Guerndt. She was a Homemaker, and a member and very active in the Nursery and Sunday School of the First Baptist Church in Avon Park for over 30 years, she was a Pioneer and Lifetime member of the Avon Park Historical Society, she was an avid supporter of all Avon Park Sports, as her late husband had been, resulting in the designing and development of the Durrah Martin Complex in Avon Park, she had been a resident of Avon Park since 1927 coming from Slinger, Wisconsin. She is survived by her son-Virgil Martin (Vivian) of Pompano Beach, Florida; daughters-Peggy Sisemore (Jim) of Avon Park, Florida and Patsy Butler (Danny) of Bartow, Florida; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (1 hour prior to the service) at the First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Avon Park with Rev. George Hall and Dr. Howard Leman officiating.
